MC:CP, RSW, RCC, BCRPT, BCATR, EMDRRegistered Play Therapist
Registered Art Therapist
EMDR Trained Children and Adults
Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator
RCC Supervisor in TrainingAs a certified counsellor and trauma-informed specialist for young children, adolescents and female adults, Michelle compassionately guides you through your personal healing journey - from painful, emotional past events and traumatic experiences to a greater sense of strength, self-experiences, and compassion.
She believes no one should have to deal with their past alone. She has seen many people try, and it often creates frustration and can lead to more trauma. She creates a safe space to help people through their individual situation to find a bit of light on the other side. Everyone can create a new horizon for themselves.
Michelle believes that we can all benefit from counselling and prides herself in providing a culturally sensitive, gender inclusive, judgment free, safe place for all. She has training and experience in working with children and youth who are neurodiverse, including Autism, and ADHD. She works from an attachment focused lens. She uses both client centered and directive approaches.
Michelle has vast knowledge and understanding of the foster care system and adoptions, disordered eating and eating disorders, PTSD, complex trauma, and c-PTSD. Due to the complexity of trauma, she has also worked with addictions, Dissociation, and suicidality.
Due to the complexity of being human, it makes sense that talk therapy does not work for everyone. Her experience is that different modalities such as Art Therapy, EMDR, Expressive Art Therapies, Mindfulness, Trauma Sensitive/Informed Yoga, and Play Therapy can offer effective healing when words cannot or when our brains get stuck.
Michelle is part of the following groups: EMDR Canada, EMDRIA, BCATA, BCPTA, BSCSW, TC-TSY, Eat Breath Thrive and Yoga Outreach.

Lisa Mitchell
Founder/Clinic Director
MA, MA:CP, RCC, SPT, EMDRCertified Synergetic Play Therapist
EMDR Trained
Expressive Art Therapist in TrainingEvery family will face challenges. Helping families come together to work through these challenges and promote positive outcomes is my goal. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Lisa helps children, adolescents, and their families connect in new and meaningful ways.
Many children and youth benefit from the opportunities counselling offers. Children and youth face many issues, such as changes in school, peer pressure, family conflict, loss and grief, and medical and/or mental health diagnoses. Counselling provides a safe space for them to make sense of their challenges, express their feelings, manage strong emotions, and understand self, family, and friend relationships, with the goal of developing resiliency.
Guided by a strength-based, trauma-informed, client-centred, culturally sensitive, neurodiversity-affirming, and mindfulness perspective, Lisa works to understand your family’s relationship dynamics and support individuals and families in identifying and reaching counselling goals. Drawing upon her training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), AutPlay, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT) and Expressive Art Therapy, Lisa applies an integrative approach to working with children, adolescents, adults and families.
Lisa is part of the following groups: ACT, AutPlay, BCPTA, EFFT, IEATA, and SPT.
